Tyler Zeller Medical Redshirt Likely
Posted Jan 27, 2009
UNC's Tyler Zeller has been sidelined since Nov. 18, when he fractured his left wrist against Kentucky. The 7-foot freshman is at least three weeks away from being cleared to play, Tar Heels coach Roy Williams said yesterday. If he doesn't play again this season, Zeller would be reclassified as a redshirt freshman in 2009-10. Asked if Zeller might return this season, Williams said, "Of course there's a chance, but I think it's awfully stupid. If he comes back and plays one game, he loses a whole year [of eligibility]."
