Both Sides Were Wrong

Ben McCauley’s hatchet job Saturday on North Carolina’s Mike Copeland was somewhat understandable. McCauley said the Tar Heels big man’s attempt at a dunk with just seconds left in UNC’s 93-76 victory over N.C. State at the RBC Center was “classless.” He obviously wanted to make Copeland pay for showing up his team. But the truth is McCauley overreacted. There was no need to go after a player who was just inserted for mop-up duty.
