His hoop dreams unrealized, Brooks Foster nears NFL career

Brooks Foster always had a notion he’d one day hear his name called on draft day and start earning a paycheck as a professional athlete. But the Boiling Springs and UNC product was long under the assumption he’d be in the NBA. Instead, Foster is expected to be a second-day selection in this weekend’s NFL draft. While it’s obvious the talented wide receiver made the right decision on which sport to pursue, the outcome actually came almost by accident.
