Jheranie Boyd finishes 7th in 100 meters

Gaston County's other finishers were Ashbrook's (seventh, 100 meters), Ashbrook's Michael Rogers (14th, 1,600 meters) and East Gaston's La'Creesha Gore (eighth, girls' 200 meters). Boyd was disqualified in the 200 meters after winning his preliminary heat. Officials ruled that his uniform was illegal because the waist band on his tights showed a logo that was not allowed, Boyd said. (Gaston Gazette)
