ACC Commissioner John Swofford continuing to raise the bar


in his younger days grew up in North Wilkesboro, N.C., a passionate fan of the Atlantic Coast Conference — a sleepy little Southern league with firm North Carolina roots. A league recognized more for basketball than anything, even then. These days Swofford lives in Greensboro, N.C., not far from his hometown, and he's in charge of a conference that has grown up and adapted perhaps more than any other in college sports during the past half century.
