Former UNC kicker Jay Wooten considering South Carolina
Posted Aug 10, 2009
South Carolina coaches are awaiting word from former North Carolina kicker Jay Wooten, who made an unofficial visit to USC last week. Wooten made 4-of-6 field goals and was 11-for-11 on extra points for the Tar Heels last season, but decided to transfer when he was again slated to back up Casey Barth. Steve Spurrier said Wooten, who also is considering Arkansas, would be welcome to walk on at USC.
