Jimmy Jerome was a triple threat
Posted Aug 16, 2009
Former UNC head coach Bill Dooley remembers the late Jimmy Jerome well. Jerome, whom Dooley recruited from Wallace to play to UNC, is a wide receiver on the StarNews All-Time Football Team. “He was a throwback to the olden days,’’ Dooley said. “He was a triple threat.’’ Jerome was a single wing tailback and High School All-American who was the Tar Heels’ leading receiver for three seasons. He later died in a California car crash in October 1975.
