A.J. Blue, Jamal Womble Sidelined for Season

Freshman tailback/quarterback A.J. Blue and freshman tailback Jamal Womble will miss the remainder of the 2009 season. Blue will also be sidelined for practice next spring. Blue had surgery on his left knee Friday at UNC Hospitals. His anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) were reconstructed and his medial collateral ligament (MCL) was repaired. Womble also had surgery Friday at UNC Hospitals to repair his fractured right wrist.
