Harrison Barnes stands in the middle of a tug-of-war between two of college basketball's bluebloods. Duke and North Carolina, separated by a dozen miles, are the most heated rivals in a six-school race for Barnes. That love-hate passion is carried out on Internet message boards, in the workplace and on the playing floor. And Barnes, the 6-foot-7 Ames High School star considered by most to be the nation's No. 1 recruit, can feel it.
