Johnny White caught an image out of the corner of his eye as he began sprinting toward the end zone in the first half of UNC’s regular-season finale against N.C. State. It was only when he took a glance over his shoulder that he realized the player running stride-for-stride with him was a teammate. And not just any teammate. White’s escort on the 40-yard touchdown run was 6-foot-3, 295-pound offensive guard Jonathan Cooper.
