It wasn’t the bowl Pittsburgh wanted to be in, but the Panthers made a case that they’ve returned to prominence. Dion Lewis rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown to pass Tony Dorsett as Pittsburgh’s top freshman rusher, and Dan Hutchins kicked a 33-yard field goal with 52 seconds left to give the 17th-ranked Panthers a 19-17 win over North Carolina on Saturday in the Meineke Bowl.
