Observations: 2nd-quarter play caliing questionable
Posted Dec 27, 2009
Can't help but question the play calling by UNC's staff near the Pittsburgh goal line in the second quarter. The Tar Heels rode the tough running of Ryan Houston on 10 of 12 plays to get into position to score with a second-and-goal at the 4-yard line. Then the staff decided to have T.J. Yates throw the ball. He rolled right and was intercepted by Dan Mason. Sticking with Houston certainly would have been the safer play.
