For the second half of Saturday's game between No. 12 North Carolina and No. 20 Georgia Tech, the Tar Heels played with passion and a sense of urgency according to senior Deon Thompson. Now if only his team had played that way in the first half. The Tar Heels rallied from a 20-point deficit but came up short in the closing seconds as the Yellow Jackets hung on for a 73-71 victory at the Smith Center.
