W&M’s Shaver faces alma mater in return to UNC

Tony Shaver insists the long-awaited postseason basketball moment at William and Mary belongs to his players. But the Tribe's coach certainly will have his own moments when he walks into Carmichael Arena tonight and William and Mary takes on North Carolina in the NIT. Shaver played at Carmichael under Dean Smith during 1972-75. He was a walk-on guard who earned a scholarship at the end of his first year.
