North Carolina forced Wake Forest into serious foul trouble early last night and paraded to the free-throw line to capture an 89-73 win at the Smith Center take sole possession of first place in the ACC. UNC pulled away steadily after halftime by forcing the ball inside to and letting other players slice into the lane to break down Wake Forest’s defense for baskets or more fouls.
