Posted Jun 15, 2010
P.J. Hairston said he still hopes to play basketball for his country someday. Just not this year. The News & Record’s high school player of the year said Monday he has put one dream on hold so he can better pursue another. Hairston is passing on a three-day tryout for the USA Basketball U18 team in Texas this week so he can go back to the NBA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va., a key step toward the McDonald’s All-America team.
