Darien Rankin commits to North Carolina

Darien Rankin first dunked a basketball as a sixth-grader, and his one-handed slam during a playoff win at East Rutherford in February stunned the home crowd. Asked to name the sports teams he liked as a child, Rankin responds, ”Basketball, I guess, it was Carolina.“ Football has developed into more of a priority for Rankin, and Salisbury’s standout defender verbally committed to North Carolina on Wednesday.
