QB Marquise Williams throws for 7 TDs

Coming off an emotional football win at Independence in their season opener, the Mallard Creek Mavericks might have been expected to have at least a little letdown Friday night against a less formidable opponent. Didn't happen. Senior quarterback passed for 341 yards and seven touchdowns during a little more than three quarters to help Mallard Creek to a 61-0 rout of visiting Harding. "We wanted to keep playing hard, and let people know what we can do," said Williams, who has committed to North Carolina. (Charlotte Observer)
