UNC's defense anchored by elite linebacker trio

Despite an 11-year gap where no UNC linebacker made first-team All-ACC from 1998 to 2008, the tradition is alive and in the capable of hands of what may be the best trio of linebackers in school history. Seniors Bruce Carter and Quan Sturdivant, along with sophomore Kevin Reddick, are ranked by Athlon Sports in its preseason football preview edition as the nation's No. 1 linebacker unit.
