Extra Points: Heels Reviving Linebacker Tradition

"This was the year for linebackers," says linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen, himself a first-team All-ACC selection from the early 1990s. "Last year, there weren't that many good linebackers available, just a handful. This season there was an abundance of them. Coach Davis was adamant that we sign four or five kids. I think we've got some good ones."
