Freshman Harrison Barnes had 19 points and 10 rebounds to help North Carolina beat Long Beach State 96-91 on Saturday night. Larry Drew II added 11 of his 13 points after halftime for the Tar Heels (7-3), who blew most of a 17-point second-half lead before holding on for their third straight win. Leslie McDonald added a career-high 17 points and hit five 3-pointers, with most of that coming in the first half.
