Why do some Iowans speak of Harrison Barnes as if he’d marched into their home, kicked their dog, and lit their back porch on fire? Why would you begrudge Marcus Paige? When Paige elected to go to North Carolina a month ago, it wasn’t a personal affront; he grew up a Tar Heels fan. Paige fell in love with Carolina Blue the first time he saw Vince Carter glide on national television. Blame ESPN for that one. “They’ve had a couple of down years (at Iowa and Iowa State) and they want to see it back to where the programs really belong,” Paige says.
