UNC bench receives big lift

North Carolina coach Roy Williams expects Alex Stepheson to be at practice this afternoon. That may not be huge news around the country, or even in ACC land, but it’s pivotal for Tar Heel fans. The 6-foot-9 sophomore only logs about 14 minutes per game and averages 3.5 points and 4.8 rebounds, but he’s the top frontcourt reserve for a team that has prided itself on depth the past couple years.
