Tar Heels add linemen John Ferranto, Jon Heck

North Carolina commitment list has grown to 12 with the additions of offensive linemen Jon Heck and John Ferranto. Heck is the son of former Notre Dame All-American offensive lineman Andy Heck. The elder Heck is now an assistant with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. Jon Heck (6-7, 270) played last season for The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. He chose UNC over Virginia. Ferranto (6-5, 270) plays for Burlington Township High in Burlington, N.J. He also had offers from Connecticut, Temple and Tulane.
