Ex-Tar Heel Brian Simmons starting third season as an NFL scout

Brian Simmons played linebacker for 10 seasons in the National Football League. Now he is evaluating the talent. Simmons, a 1993 New Bern High graduate, is entering his third season as a scout for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is the Northeast regional scout for the Jaguars, covering ground from North Carolina through Maine — going to college football games, visiting campuses and attending combines and pro timing days.
