Everett Withers, Tar Heels begin preseason practice

Everett Withers admitted he felt awkward when practice began. "Today, in the beginning it was,'' Withers said after the two-hour practice. "But I think I jumped in and felt more comfortable as practice went on.'' Withers had previously only worked with the defense. But Friday he bounced from station to station, coaching and encouraging players at almost every position.
