Tar Heels open bag of offensive tricks to keep defenders at bay

After displaying a fairly conventional offense in the first two games, UNC (3-0) finally opened up the playbook against Virginia. End-arounds by wide receivers Erik Highsmith (19 yards), Sean Tapley (17) and Boyd (14) all gained first downs, while two more receivers — Reggie Wilkins and Dwight Jones — hooked up for a 36-yard completion despite defensive pass interference on the play.
