Former UNC kicker Jay Wooten has saved South Carolina this season
Posted Sep 22, 2011
The 49-yard kick against Georgia was Jay Wooten’s first field goal as a Gamecock. He joined the team in 2009 after transferring from North Carolina, where he kicked as a redshirt freshman in 2008, making 4-of-6 attempts. His longest field goal for the Tar Heels was 43 yards. Wooten was glad to get his first kicks as a Gamecock under his belt, particularly since they went so well, he said.
