UNC’s Bernard learning about history as he makes it
Posted Oct 5, 2011
Giovani Bernard is getting a crash course in North Carolina football history. Call it Running Backs 101. It started after his first college game, against James Madison on Sept. 3, when a reporter compared his explosiveness and physical stature to that of former Tar Heel great “Famous” Amos Lawrence. Apparently, Lawrence wasn’t so famous that Bernard had heard of him at the time.
