Top-ranked Tar Heels start slow, finish strong

For all the NBA-level talent at his disposal, North Carolina coach Roy Williams needed the guys at the end of the bench to spark his top-ranked team Friday night. Unheralded freshmen Stilman White and Jackson Simmons helped the Tar Heels finally overtake North Carolina-Pembroke, and the starters pulled away in the second half as UNC won 100-58 in a men’s basketball exhibition at the Smith Center.
