Local teams get creative with Thanksgiving celebrations

Everett Withers said he believes that Thanksgiving is an important time in which families need to be together. That and the fact that so many of the Tar Heels are from North Carolina is why he allows them to go their separate ways after an early practice Thursday. A unique aspect of the philosophy is that many of whose who do live close enough to go home bring those who can’t along with them to make sure they don’t have to celebrate the holiday alone.
