Tar Heels turn in bowl effort to forget

There were two distinctly different theories regarding North Carolina prior to its appearance against Missouri in the Independence Bowl. The first imagined the Tar Heels would play with emotion and intensity, and send interim head coach Everett Withers and his staff off with a triumph. The other thought was that the Tar Heels would take the game lightly and play with little effort because of the lame-duck status of their coaches.
