UNC lands former ECU QB commit Kanler Coker
Posted Jan 16, 2012
Two-star quarterback and former ECU commit Kanler Coker (6'4", 215, Flowery Branch, GA) has switched his commitment from the Pirates to UNC, according to Inside Carolina. Coker's commitment comes roughly a week after the Tar Heels lost 2012 QB commit Patton Robinette on a last-minute switch to Vanderbilt.
Coker is an athletic quarterback who seems to fit new UNC coach Larry Fedora's spread offensive system well, having run the same system in high school. In his senior season, Coker completed 60% of his passes for 2,833 yards and 31 touchdowns, leading his team to an 11-2 record. He also rushed for 837 yards and 15 touchdowns.
