Fedora’s first UNC class includes S.C. player of year
Posted Feb 2, 2012
When North Carolina first started to recruit South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year Quinshad Davis three weeks ago, the receiver’s coach at Gaffney High told the UNC staff that it wasn’t even in the picture. But UNC head coach Larry Fedora and position coach Gunter Brewer made up enough ground that Davis picked the Tar Heels over Tennessee and Wake Forest on National Signing Day on Wednesday. Davis was the final piece in a 23-player recruiting class for Fedora, who held his first staff meeting less than a month ago and still was dealing with the uncertainty of possible NCAA sanctions.
