Thornton redefines rules for linebackers
Posted Nov 7, 2007
After forcing a fumble two weeks ago in Houston, Titans linebacker David Thornton stopped to check on an injured Texan lying on the turf. "Whoa," a teammate told Thornton. "You're not supposed to be asking him if he's all right." Thornton couldn't help it. It's who he is. Often smiling, he squashes the notion that a guy has to be a mean and nasty to play linebacker, even if he's squashing a ball carrier at the same time.
