For large stretches of a 73-65 overtime NCAA tournament victory against Ohio on Friday night, North Carolina looked like its time could be up. Playing without injured point guard Kendall Marshall, their unquestioned catalyst and on-court leader, the top-seeded Tar Heels (32-5) looked as disjointed as one would expect. They had a season-high 24 turnovers.
