To say the Tar Heels missed placekicker Casey Barth last season is an understatement. Barth, left, was on the verge of setting the school record for career field goals in 2011 before a groin injury sent him to the sidelines after just three games. The NCAA graciously granted Barth a medical redshirt, allowing him to return for 2012 for a fifth year.
