UNC Recruiting Week in Review, Part II: Football

News and notes from this week in UNC Football Recruiting:

It was an up-and-down week for UNC wide receiver commit . On the positive side, Switzer was named to the USA Today Pre-Season All-American Team. He also scored on a 63-yard touchdown run the first time he touched the ball in his season's opening game. You can view the highlights here. Switzer's touchdown and a nice open-field tackle on defense begin around the 35-second mark (wearing #7).

Unfortunately, Switzer suffered a concussion a few plays later and was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. His recovery is day-to-day.

Switzer was also the victim of false rumors that he had de-committed from UNC. This is not true, and Switzer has no idea how the rumor began.

2013 defensive tackle commit is also dealing with injuries. Webb is still recovering from knee surgery earlier this year and will likely miss his team's first four games.

Also on the injured list is 2014 wide receiver target Aggadoria Bowers, who will miss the entire season with a knee injury.

Now for some of this weekend's top performers.

UNC commit and Raleigh (Wakefield) wide receiver had a big night Friday, catching seven passes from South Carolina commit Connor Mitch for 157 yards and a touchdown. Here are some of Fieulleteau's highlights through the first two games.

2014 quarterback Will Grier, one of the most coveted recruits in the state of North Carolina, also had a huge night on Friday, passing for 493 yards and six touchdowns.

2014 running back/linebacker rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Hood is being recruited as a linebacker by UNC.

In commitment news, UNC running back target Taquan Mizzell committed to the University of Virginia last Tuesday.

Finally, in rivalry news, this billboard in Raleigh may or may not help with the NC State "Aggies" recruiting efforts (read the small print).
