James Michael McAdoo set career highs with 26 points and 14 rebounds to help No. 11 North Carolina beat Gardner-Webb 76-59 on Friday night. McAdoo shot 10 of 20 from the field in the first game of the season for both teams. Dexter Strickland added 13 points for the Tar Heels, who improved to 91-12 in openers.
