Harry Giles undergoes successful knee surgery

Harry Giles, a rising sophomore at Wesleyan and ESPN’s No. 1 player in basketball’s Class of 2016, underwent successful knee surgery Wednesday but will miss his sophomore season. Giles had surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament, the medial collateral ligament and meniscus on his left knee on at Duke University Hospital, Trojans head coach Keith Gatlin said. According to Gatlin, the 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward has been “in great spirits” during recovery.
