Roy Williams Heads West on the Recruiting Trail

and UNC assistant coach had a long day Thursday, beginning with the Tar Heels' 5 am practice following Wednesday night's loss to Texas. They ended the day at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas where they watched several 2015 recruits in the Tarkanian Classic.

Williams was on hand, specifically, to watch 2015 power forward (Bishop O'Dowd, Oakland, CA), and 2015 centers and , both of whom play for host team Bishop Gorman. All three recruits currently have offers from UNC.

Jeter and Zimmerman led Bishop Gorman to a 65-49 win over Sheldon, while Rabb scored 30 points in O'Dowd's win over Durango. Rabb had a couple of nice dunks and exhibited some flashy post moves in this brief video from the event.

Zimmerman garnered some attention Wednesday night when he slammed home a dunk followed by an out-of-character technical for staring down his opponent. Here's a quick video of that incident along with a few other highlights. The Las Vegas Review Journal also published an article outlining Zimmerman's strengths and weaknesses...there are a few interesting tidbits in there as well.

Williams and Davis weren't the only coaches in attendance. Indiana coach Tom Crean, UConn coach Kevin Ollie, and assistants from Kansas, Vanderbilt, and UNLV, among others were also on hand.
