Elijah Hood named AP prep football player of the year for North Carolina


Charlotte Catholic running back has been named The Associated Press prep football player of the year for North Carolina. Hood, a senior, earned eight of a possible 12 votes from sports writers across the state to earn the 2013 honor in results released Wednesday. On Monday, Hood made the AP all-state team for the second straight season. Hood originally committed to Notre Dame but later switched to North Carolina. (The Republic)
