Brandon Ingram, Kinston top N. Rowan for NC 2A state title

started off slowly in the N.C. 2A state championship Saturday at N.C. State’s Reynolds Coliseum. But the 6-foot-7 junior from Kinston High came through when his team needed it most. Ingram had five points and three rebounds at halftime of his team’s 67-57 win over North Rowan. In the second half, Ingram showed why ESPN ranks him No. 15 overall among juniors and No. 1 in North Carolina. Ingram, named championship game MVP, had 23 points and 13 rebounds in the final 16 minutes. (Charlotte Observer)
