Q&A with Jerry Stackhouse
Posted Apr 5, 2014
Both of your parents were the children of sharecroppers. How did their work ethic influence you? Jerry Stackhouse: The athletic toughness came from my brothers, but the overall toughness comes from my parents. I grew up hearing stories about them working in the cotton and tobacco fields. My mom only finished the tenth grade and my dad finished the fifth. They had to go to work to support their families.
