UNC Interested in 2015 SG Kenny Williams
Posted Apr 29, 2014
Kenny Williams, a 6'3" shooting guard from Bird High School in Chesterfield, Virginia, is quickly making a name for himself as a top recruit in the 2015 recruiting class.
A Scout.com article had this to say on Tuesday about Williams' standout performance in Sacramento last weekend where Roy Williams was on hand to watch:
"Williams was a standout last weekend at the Southern Jam Fest and was a stock raiser in Sacramento as well. A 6-foot-3 guard, Williams is high-level shooter who makes shots from deep and on the move. With a lack of shooters in high school basketball, a premium is being placed on guys who make long distance shots and Williams can certainly do that."
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Clint Jackson also Tweeted Tuesday that "UNC's Hubert Davis spoke to 2015 SG Kenny Williams (Tuesday) night. Roy will be talking to him soon as well."
Currently there are two shooting guards with offers in UNC's 2015 basketball recruiting class: Malik Newman and P.J. Dozier. Williams does not have an offer yet, but the interest level from Roy Williams and his staff will be interesting to follow over the summer.
There aren't many videos of Kenny Williams available online, but here's one from about a year ago that shows some of his skill set and shooting touch:
