Dre Bly donates to Jason Ray Foundation
Posted May 20, 2007
Jason Kendall Ray, 21, the Rays' youngest son, was the Tar Heels mascot who died March 26 after being struck by a vehicle in New Jersey while in town to cheer at the NCAA Tournament. The Rays had come to the Pope Box at Kenan to meet with Dre Bly, the former UNC football star. Bly presented the Rays with a check for $2,500 for the memorial fund in Jason Ray's name. Jason Ray's mother, Charlotte, hugged Bly as they received the check and thanked him.
