Brad Daugherty reflects on 1st NASCAR team win


Owen basketball legend recently opened his own restaurant in south Asheville, but another venture was the one getting all the attention Sunday. A.J. Allmendinger's triumph at Watkins Glen, N.Y. proved to be the first win for Daugherty as a NASCAR team owner. Daugherty graduated from Owen in 1982 and then continued his college career at North Carolina. He was the first overall pick in the 1986 NBA draft. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
