'77 Heels couldn't win it for Dean

Former North Carolina coach Dean Smith eventually won two NCAA championships in his 36 seasons with the Tar Heels. But it wasn't until 1982 that a Smith-coached team would win a championship. John Kuester and Phil Ford, the starting guards for the Tar Heels' 1977 Final Four team, badly wanted to be the ones to present Smith with his first title.
