Seventh Woods shines playing through tragedy

Hammond junior got off to a slow start in his team’s 94-68 victory over Spring Valley on Saturday night. He missed his first three shots but it wasn’t because of the adrenaline he felt going against South Carolina signee in front of a capacity crowd. Woods was carrying a heavy heart. Less than 24 hours before the ball was tossed and the two powerhouses in the state tipped off, Woods lost his grandparents in a house fire. (The Big Spur)
