Sha’mond Squires to join UNC’s football team as preferred walk-on
Posted Feb 4, 2015
Mike Hughes has been waiting for this moment for as long as he can remember, signing his name and becoming a member of a Division I football team. Hughes, a former New Bern football standout, officially became a North Carolina Tar Heel at a signing day event at New Bern High School. Sha’mond Squires will join UNC’s football team as preferred walk-on. Squires, a 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker, joins UNC with a chip on his shoulder. He is looking forward to proving himself to the coaching staff.
